NYSL Coaching Education Information...In an ongoing effort to improve the quality of coaching across the board within our club and to subsequently improve the fun and excitement for all of our players, NYSL is moving to mandatory coaching education for all coaches, beginning this fall 2009. The USSF “F” module coaching certificate course will satisfy this requirement for all Recreation Coaches, while the USSF “E” coaching certificate course will continue to satisfy this requirement for all Advanced coaches. NYSL Opens New Recreation Program Game Site!...The Williams Farm Facility has officially been opened and utilized for all U4-U9 NYSL Recreation games this fall. The Williams Farm Facility joins Wyndamere Park as the “Home” fields of the Club for its Recreation games on Saturdays. The facility has over 12 acres of usable field space and comfortably fits all of the U4-U9 games. “The quality of the playing surface helps to provide a developmentally appropriate environment for all of our young players, where players can focus on playing technically sound soccer and have a blast doing it.
The size of the space and the inclusive setting also promote a Club Culture, where a large portion of our entire Club can come to one site to participate. This is a great step for our Club,” says NYSL Technical Director Kevin Knott. NYSL is happy to have such a spacious facility for its use and looks forward to many more seasons to come in their new “Home.”
